Word stimuli for the ISTs were displayed in the centre of a 15" colour monitor on an ASUS M2N notebook PC running DMDX v.3.0.4. Screen resolution was set manually at 800x600px, 16 bit (65,536 colours) RGB. White words, each 7mm high, were presented on a black background. The distance from the screen to the participants' eyes was 58cm. The visual angle was calculated to be .69 degrees.
